JANNER - NACH DEM HÖRSTURZ - Pop born out of the crisis

Sometimes you have to lose something to really learn to appreciate its value, the likeable Hamburg artist JANNER tells us. Anyone who thinks this sentence comes from the vast surface of an amateur philosopher should definitely listen now: The ink on the major deal had just dried when Jan realized: something was no longer right. In JANNER's case, the setback ended in what is probably every successful musician's worst nightmare: the temporary loss of his hearing. Later, with the return of full hearing, this event inspired him to leave the beaten track and create a bold and powerful album, the likes of which had never been heard before in German-language pop music.

On "Nach Dem Hörsturz", he authentically and unpretentiously celebrates his own vulnerability and the momentum he was able to gain from his personal crisis, and the uplifting and unifying energy of his music runs like a common thread through the album, without ever drifting into slogans or stagnating. In his music, the accomplished songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist combines atmospheric guitars with analog synthesizer sounds and drum machines to create modern yet timeless pop music, which his charismatic voice accompanies, sometimes minimalistically, sometimes bombastically. JANNER knows from experience how to effectively combine musical styles to create something new: his long-standing band "Rakede" is one of the innovators of the German pop scene with releases on Warnermusic and millions of clicked videos. After collaborating with Samy Deluxe, Curse, Annett Louisan and rap legend Ghostface Killah, JANNER is now realizing his own artistic vision.
