Conversation
Compassion - hardly any other word sounds as quintessentially Christian as this one, which immediately brings to mind St. Martin's Day and lantern parades. But what does this word and the compassion that precedes it have to do with politics and our society today?
We often hear the thesis that our modern society is moving further and further away from a compassionate society that stands up for one another due to increasing individualism - but how should we assess this? Do we need more empathy again in tough times like these? Or does the concept of compassion contradict our current social and political community? These are the questions addressed in the first of the Virtue Trilogy.
