What great news:Turin Brakesare returningto their roots with acoustic shows, performing songs from throughout their career. The tour began in the fall of 2024, sold nearly 10,000 tickets, and—due to high demand—was initially extended through 2025 and has now been extended into this year until further notice. Great. So it turns out they’ll be stopping by here as well.
But let’s start from the beginning: Turin Brakes, founded by childhood friends Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian in South London at the turn of the millennium, released their Mercury Prize-nominated debut album *The Optimist LP* in March 2001 (which went gold in the UK), followed in 2003 by their most successful album, “Ether Song.” Sonically more ambitious than their debut, it reached No. 4 on the official UK album charts and featured, not least, the hit single “Pain Killer (Summer Rain),” which was played over and over again at our parties. Many more great albums and smash hits followed, most recently their 10th album, “Space Hopper.” The band currently consists of Knights, Paridjanian, and longtime bandmates Rob Allum and Eddie Myer. You’ll hardly ever get this close to them as you will here and now. We’d definitely go.
