"The comedic range is just as enjoyable as the general light-footedness." epd-Film
After a robbery, Paulo (Artus) and his father (Clovis Cornillac) flee from the police and find refuge in a coach that is supposed to take young adults with disabilities to their vacation destination in the mountains. Paulo and his father pretend to be the missing traveler Sylvain and his carer - an almost perfect disguise. Their escape from the police marks the start of an extraordinary adventure that presents everyone involved with unexpected challenges - including lots of fun, new friendships and a lot of heart.
As the directorial cinema debut of the multi-talented Artus, who is already very well known in France, this good-humored comedy about two crooks on the run who join the vacation trip of a flat-sharing community for the disabled is definitely worthy of attention. The atmosphere is cheerful almost throughout and quickly spills over from the screen into the movie theater. All the actors are captivating, and it almost doesn't matter that the jokes are sometimes crude and the gags sometimes predictable. The snappy story with its tongue-in-cheek criticism of the usual behavior towards people with physical and mental disabilities makes for a positive overall impression. But all this is outshone by a warm-heartedness that fortunately doesn't tip over into maudlin.
