"Alerta, Alerta (...) The film is a bit like the SPD itself: starts big with the "Internationale" and then manages its own idea. Promotes party work, but doesn't sugarcoat it. It is very precise. And sometimes you need a paper cup of coffee to stay focused while watching. But still, yes, it's worth it. "Süddeutsche Zeitung

Article 21 of the Basic Law states "The parties shall participate in the formation of the political will of the people". And Section 8 of the SPD's constitution states that "the political will of the party is formed from the bottom up in this organization".

The people in the local associations follow this clear regulation. They get involved. They put up posters and spend a lot of their free time, usually after work, on local politics without reward or thanks. On the contrary: at their information stands and on the "net" they are met with ingratitude and wild insinuations.

The director has experienced this. In the local association - or so you think - you meet people who know how to "get things moving and get things done". But you are confronted with rigid rituals, predetermined opinions
opinions, rules of procedure and statutes, with lists of speakers and meeting deadlines. Yellow rooms, dead light, moving chairs, greetings and miscellaneous. The whole system seems to be designed to kill creativity. Material for a movie? Absolutely!

Because anyone who wants to stand up for a world on a human scale, for a society of the free and equal, or even just a new crosswalk: He or she must take the path provided for in our constitution. Those who are not put off by the first impression they make in the local association will gradually discover how our society works.
