April 13, 2026 / Room 1
In most cases, working on a text is a solitary activity: only a few confidants get to read what you have written. Friends, an editor and at some point the publisher. A considerable amount of time passes before readers have the text in front of them.
The new "Unpublished" series from Literaturhaus Leipzig e.V. breaks with this pattern: authors present the text they are currently working on - unpublished and unfinished - to a select and exclusive audience and want to talk about it.
The guest in the first edition is Thomas Brussig with his new novel. Thomas Brussig, born in Berlin in 1964, had his breakthrough in 1995 with "Helden wie wir". This was followed by "Am kürzeren Ende der Sonnenallee" (1999), "Wie es leuchtet" (2004) and "Das gibt's in keinem Russenfilm" (2015), among others. His works have been translated into over 30 languages.
