In the organizer's words:

Exhibition "up:rooted"
(German: ent:wurzelt)
The exhibition explores the theme of uprooting and the search for belonging in an ever-changing world.
"up:rooted" presents works by five artists from different parts of the world, including Ahmad El Hamidi from Syria, Natalia Perekhodenko from Ukraine, Robert Rickli from Switzerland, Christina Sauer from Germany and Anastasiya Trifonenko from Russia. The exhibition focuses not only on uprooting, but also on other forms of rootedness. Through vibrant paintings, multimedia installations and abstract landscapes, the artists lead visitors on a thoughtful exploration of the many ways in which individuals and communities cope with upheaval and adaptation.
"up:rooted" explores the loss of land, uprooted systems and the consequences such as migration and displacement that resonate profoundly in today's world. The artworks serve as reminders of the need for collective action and responsibility. The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on their own roots and relationship to the earth and to create new forms of belonging that do justice to the current challenges.

The opening of "up:rooted" will take place on Tuesday, April 16 at 6 pm in the rooms of the "asphalt Festival" at Oststraße 34. Further opening hours are Friday, April 19 from 6 pm to 10 pm and Saturday, April 20 from 4 pm to 8 pm.
We cordially invite you to attend the vernissage and the other dates and discover the works of these artists.
