Urban Sketching auf Zeche Zollverein
In the organizer's words:
On Sunday, August 23, starting at 10 a.m., explore the World Heritage Site with your sketchbook in hand:
In a broader sense, urban sketching is a form of visual journalism, because true to the motto “We show the world, drawing by drawing!” we explore our surroundings equipped with a sketchbook and drawing or painting supplies. At its core, this is about creatively engaging with urban architecture, its surroundings, and the people within it, as well as creating highly personal works of art.
The workshop is explicitly open to everyone. You’ll discover that you can draw. Over the course of several sessions, with individual guidance, you’ll create sketches of subjects you’ve chosen yourself, which we’ll then discuss as a group.
Please bring your own supplies, such as a stool, a seat cushion, a sketchbook, and/or a drawing pad. The basic supplies are pencils and felt-tip pens. If you’d like, you can also use colored pencils, markers, or watercolors.
Participation fee: €48
Meeting point: Main entrance of the Ruhr Museum (in front of the escalator), Gelsenkirchener Straße 181, 45309 Essen
