In the organizer's words:
For women & FLINTA*
Summer is just around the corner and we are delighted to be hosting this special urban sketch workshop at Poppelsdorfer Schloss Bonn together with the Bonn Girls and illustrator Penny Sketchbook.
This two-hour workshop is all about conscious observation. Together we will be inspired by the diversity of the botanical garden, flowers, plants and the small details of nature that we often miss in everyday life. Urban sketching is not just about drawing, but also about observing our surroundings with open eyes. Through close observation, we train our attention, exercise our creativity and learn to capture our impressions on paper.
The workshop is suitable for everyone, whether beginner, amateur or professional artist. Everyone is welcome.
You are welcome to bring your own sketchbook or your favorite materials. However, we will provide all the necessary drawing and painting materials so that you can enjoy the workshop in a relaxed atmosphere.
As we will be spending time outdoors, please remember to bring sun protection, plenty of water, a small snack, a hat and sunglasses. And of course: bring a good mood and enjoy creative exploration!
We look forward to working with you to create not only beautiful drawings, but also unforgettable memories.

About the artist - Penny Sketchbook
Penny was born and raised in Athens. She spent several years of her life in Crete before moving to Bonn in 2018. This new stage in her life not only opened up new professional opportunities, but also contributed significantly to her personal development. Since then, she has continuously expanded her artistic career and developed her own creative style.
Her passion for art started back in 2014 and after her first experience in painting, she decided to study illustration and graphic design in Athens to deepen her creative career professionally.
Throughout her career, she has participated in numerous conventions and artist alleys and worked with a wide variety of clients. Her creative offerings include individual commissions, decorative artwork and personalized portraits ranging from realistic depictions to illustrative sketches. She also makes comics for children's books and is active on social media such as Instagram and YouTube. In addition, she designs creative offers for children's birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and other special occasions.
She gained her first experience as an art teacher while working in hotels, where she led drawing and painting courses for children, young people and adults. Working with people and teaching creativity are still an important part of her artistic work today.
In addition to art, traveling and inspiring conversations are among her greatest passions. She loves discovering new places, getting to know people and listening to their stories. For her, every encounter is a valuable experience and often a source of new creative inspiration.
She feels particularly connected to both the sea and the mountains. She finds peace, inspiration and creative energy by the sea. With her sketchbook and brushes, she likes to capture special moments there and develop new ideas for future projects.
For Penny, art is much more than creating images - it is a way of visualizing and connecting people, stories, memories and emotions.
