Venus in Fur (Venus In Fur) by David Ives - German by Michael Raab

Thomas, a young writer and director, has written a play: "Venus in Fur", an adaptation of Leopold von Sacher-Masoch's 1870 novella of the same name. The protagonist of the plot is Severin von Kusiemski, who submits physically and psychologically to the rich widow Wanda von Dunayev.
At the end of a day of unsuccessful auditions, a young actress appears in Thomas' rehearsal room - Wanda Jordan. Thomas is not particularly enthusiastic about her
But Wanda not only has unusually great talent, a sophisticated wardrobe and astonishing background knowledge, but also an enormously strong will. Her emotionally charged audition becomes a test of strength in which the boundaries between fantasy and reality, seduction and power become increasingly permeable.

This erotic comedy is based on the Broadway play of the same name by the American author David Ives, who in turn adapted it from the Austrian writer Leopold von Sacher-Masoch.
