Vernissage "Augen auf Beton"

In the organizer's words:

What we see when we look
Two exhibitions, two perspectives - and a shared view of the people who shape our present.

The exhibition starts with Eyes on Concrete: large-format portraits of construction workers in Berlin. People who build the city every day - and yet mostly remain invisible. Their faces take them out of anonymity and bring them into the public space at eye level.

This is followed by Six Steps Up: portraits of young activists from the countries of the Western Balkans. They fight for democracy, climate protection and social justice - and show how much change can come from individuals.

What both exhibitions have in common is a look behind the obvious: at work, courage and responsibility. On people who shape things - often without being seen.

The double exhibition invites you to take a closer look: at those who build our cities and those who defend our future.

EYES ON CONCRETE | 03.06.2026 - 14.06.2026 | Foyer of the FMP1
Vernissage on 03.06. 18:00

Every day, people build this city and yet often remain invisible.
AUGEN AUF BETON takes construction workers out of the anonymity of the big city and meets them at eye level: in large-format portraits and personal stories about work, origin, pride, prejudice and community.

Film producer Janine Baumeister focuses on the people behind Berlin's building fences - on those who shape our city.

At the vernissage on June 3, Janine Baumeister, Judith Nestroy-Schöll (copywriter) and a few of the people portrayed will guide you through the exhibition. They will talk about the background to the project and tell personal stories from their everyday life on the building site.

Registration is requested.

SIX STEPS UP | 16.06.2026 - 01.07.2026 | Foyer of the FMP1
Vernissage on 16.06. 20:00 hrs

With her camera and an empathetic eye, film producer Janine Baumeister traveled through the countries of the Western Balkans to portray young activists who take responsibility - for democracy, climate protection, social justice and social cohesion.

SIX STEPS UP tells of courage, resilience and the question of how young people are shaping change today - often against resistance and with great personal determination.

For the vernissage on June 16, we invite you to an evening event with Janine Baumeister and Judith Nestroy-Schöll, who wrote the exhibition texts. Afterwards, we will be showing a film in the FMP1 courtyard cinema that is thematically linked to the exhibition. Further information will follow shortly.
