Vernissage Caroline Cramer: PALIMPSEST

During a phase of intense change, I accompanied Paula as a close friend and attentive observer of her changing body. A phase full of movement and simultaneity, in which the familiar and the unknown merge and new roles emerge. I find myself on the threshold between Paula's inner world and the outside world. Witnessing her experience opened my eyes to social issues, and the multi-layered state demanded an equally complex way of painting. From this position, I play with the depicted pictorial time and the perception of the female body in my paintings.
