Franzmann x Anna-Sophia Kamps

After a turbulent summer with many wonderful exhibitions (including Represantation - a female Street Art Exhibition, я кость and the Franzmannstickerfest), we are now looking forward to presenting works by the following Dusseldorf-based artist in our space from 13.10. onwards: Anna-Sophia Kamps pursues the simple goal of encountering beauty, resistance and culture to create artistic experiments without borders. For this, the communication design student has chosen bulky waste as a source of material for her art.

The use of chalk gives her works a vibrant texture and creates a powerful connection to the past. The wooden surface creates an organic foundation that highlights the naturalness and authenticity of her art.

In her search for inspiration, she has extensively studied many African artists* who have deeply impressed her. Artists* such as El Anatsui, whose monumental works made from recycled materials create a fascinating connection to the environment and history, have broadened her perspective. The abstract sculptures of Yinka Shonibare - expressing a unique blend of African and European aesthetics - have enormously enriched her own artistic language.

On Oct. 13, Anna-Sophia Kamps celebrates the opening of her first solo exhibition and, by extension, life. Admission is from 6 pm. The exhibition is on view until 9.11.
