Vernissage Matthias Taube - Zwischen Bedrohung und Idylle in der Galerie Ohne Namen

In the organizer's words:

Matthias Taube - Between threat and idyll (11.-14.6.2026)

Matthias Taube's current works are characterized by historical and contemporary experiences of conflict. Based on a former NATO missile station, the war in Ukraine and family memories of war and flight, Taube develops a visual language that combines personal and collective memory. At the center of this is the theme of migration, which he continues under the title "The Century of the Hare".

The hare - as a flight animal and symbol of survival and adaptation - becomes a recurring companion in Taube's artistic research: between threat, resilience and quiet hope.

Matthias Taube has lived and worked as a freelance artist in Hamburg since 1990. His work encompasses drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, installation and performance. In serial and project-oriented works, he primarily examines the areas of tension between "sacrifice" and "natural forces", questioning the aesthetics of supposedly idyllic imagery.
