Language is what characterizes humans, the "Homo Sapiens". We are able to use it in a targeted manner, to use it to convey information, to formulate needs, to conquer the world, but also to manipulate and destroy it. Language creates world views, it can be used to silence or silence someone, language reflects the reality of our lives, whoever has the language has the power. Our linguistic horizon determines what we know, what we believe, what we pass on, what our personal attitude looks like.
We experience what happens to language when we are no longer "in control" of it in our daily interactions, in the so-called social media, but also in politics.
Our scenic parcours takes language literally and shows how we are "masters" of our words every day, but at the same time are influenced and restricted by what we see, read and hear.
At five locations in the FelinaTheater, the theme is language in all its facets. The players design the spaces in collaboration with dramaturge Angela Wendt. The idea of confronting knowledge about language from a university German studies context with actors whose most important tool is language is the basis for our project.
