About the Author

Volker Schmitt is a screenwriter and director. In addition to working on his own feature film projects, he develops material for commissioned TV productions. He also teaches dramaturgy, film analysis, and acting. Kibitz Verlag also published his pirate adventure *Zack!*, illustrated by Màriam Ben-Arab. Volker Schmitt lives with his family in Hamburg.

About the Illustrator

Màriam Ben-Arab, born in Barcelona, where she still lives today, is an illustrator and comic artist. She works for numerous Spanish and German children’s book publishers. Among other works, she illustrated the pirate comic *ZACK!* and the children’s novel *KISTE: DER HINTERHÄLTIGE GNOM* (author Patrick Wirbeleit); both books were published by Kibitz Verlag.
