VOLOSI

In the organizer's words:

VOŁOSI was founded in 2010 when violinist Krzysztof Lasoń and cellist Stanisław Lasoń met three exceptionally talented traditional musicians deep in the heart of the Carpathian Mountains.
Over the years, they have created a genuine style that defies definition: dynamic, full of passion and sophisticated at the same time.

Their artistic output includes over 820 concerts in 37 countries at prestigious venues such as: Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Wiener Konzerthaus, St. Martin in the Fields, Kings Place London, Stockholms Stadshuset, Caixa Forum Madrid. They have performed at: Sziget Festival, WOMAD, Colours of Ostrava, Dranouter, Rainforest World Music Festival, Shenzhen International Music Festival, Hamamatsu World Music Festival, United Islands, O.Z.O.R.A.

VOŁOSI were awarded: Grand Prix, Czesław Niemen Award, Audience Award, Best Soloist Award at New Tradition Festival, Warsaw 2010, Grand Prix Svetozar Stracina EBU Festival for Best European World Music Composition 2011, Grand Prix Czech Music Crossroads Festival, Ostrava 2016, Songlines Magazine Best Album 2019.
They took 2nd place in the World Music Charts Europe and 1st place in the Balkan World Music Charts for Lajkó Félix & VOŁOSI.

VOŁOSI performed during WOMEX 2014 and at the opening ceremony of WOMEX 2017, at the Stockholm Water Prize Gala for King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, for many heads of state as well as for the Danish Royal Family. Also hosted by the legendary Korean radio show: "Bae Cheol-soo's Music Camp". Katie Derham invited her to the BBC show "In Tune".
