This show has been running with the same line-up since 1996. One man, one microphone, one screen - nothing more. And yet it is new every time. No two evenings are the same, each one stands alone. But what is behind the modestly titled "Videoschnipselvortrag" stage performance?
At this point, one could quote the FAZ, which comments whimsically: " Kuttner proves with every performance that you can think and speak ten times faster when you're a Berliner than when you're not. The Berliner Zeitung, which reports on evenings in which confusing and enlightening chains of associations are triggered with great reliability, could also be quoted. Or the Tagesspiegel, which names Jürgen Kuttner as one of the last radical enlighteners of the present day.
But you can also leave it at that and note quite soberly that Jürgen Kuttner, who holds a doctorate in cultural studies, delivers brand-new descriptions of the state of society in his video snippet lectures with the help of a few well-worn television clips. Which, in turn, sounds a little pious and ignores the fact that these evenings not only shake the political and moral foundations of most viewers, but also their diaphragm.
