Covering the body with fabric has a long tradition in cultural history. In Europe, the material and color of clothing have indicated a person’s social status since the Middle Ages. Even today, clothing is a part of our daily lives. But where does it come from? Who made it? And how was it produced? Through textiles as a consumer good, we explore the history of consumption.
