Tilmann Bünz has been researching the far north of Europe for more than 20 years. His books and documentary films are dedicated to the indigenous population of the Sámen, among others.
On this evening, the former ARD correspondent will present excerpts from his films and his latest publication "Right of way for reindeer": "The region in question has many names - the Sámen call it Sápmi. In the tourism industry, it is often referred to as 'Lapland' and in political language as 'Norrland' or 'Finnmark', probably so that no one gets the idea that the land belongs to those who have always lived there. The region is - also - the key to the green conversion of Europe with rich raw materials from graphite to rare earths. Up close, it doesn't look so green anymore."
Moderator: Mikko Fritze, Director of the Finnish Institute in Germany
Until November 30, 2025, the exhibition Áimmuin Sámische Kulturerbe wieder-verbinden can be seen at the Museum of European Cultures.
