Voyage, Voyage - a journey into French pop music
Reading with live music!
Together with Alexandra Romary (vocals) and Judith Brormann (cello), André Boße brings the book to the stage - as an evening of reading, storytelling, listening and live music.
With lots of French music, from the music from the La Boum films to Serge Gainsbourg, from Piaf to Daft Punk. The live premieres in Münster and Cologne were sold out. This was followed by shows in bookshops and on the Reeperbahn, in churches and cultural centers, old Roman cellars and community centers. In the second part of the evening, the trio plays selected pieces from the history of French pop. With songs by Mylène Farmer, Françoise Hardy, Jane Birkin, Pomme, Alain Souchon, Renauld and many more.
"Voyage, Voyage - a journey into French pop music"
The book:
We eat, drink and smoke French. We travel around the country for which we have even invented a nickname that nobody in France uses: the 'Grande Nation'. But we often only know about French pop music in passing. In his book 'Voyage, Voyage', cultural journalist André Boße takes us on a journey through France and French pop music - from the hits of the Yéyé years, French pop and nouvelle chanson to rock, hip-hop, raï and electro. The book is already regarded as a standard work for anyone who wants to rediscover French pop or delve deeper into the subject matter.
