Wachhaus #19: Karla Kleinschmidt

In the course of Karla Kleinschmidt's exhibition, six sentence fragments are leaned against the outer wall of the guardhouse in changing combinations. The building is thus integrated into the work's communication system. The sentences are addressed directly to the visitors of the rocket station. The text can be read from a distance and expands the effective space of the exhibition area - "that's all I can propose".

Karla Kleinschmidt has been studying at the Düsseldorf Art Academy since 2020 and has been in Prof. Peter Piller's class since 2024.

The Wachhaus exhibition series is a cooperation with the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, in which students realize a new installation on site every two months. After a cycle of six presentations, one contribution is honored at an award ceremony the following year.
