Green façades have been a feature of Leipzig for hundreds of years - and are once again coming into focus today. In view of increasingly hot summers, they are seen as an effective instrument for climate adaptation and contribute to cooling, biodiversity and enhancing the cityscape.
As part of the special exhibition "Sun. Full. Summer in Leipzig", the Leipzig City History Museum, together with Ökolöwen e.V. and its project "Kletterfix - Green Walls for Leipzig", invites you to take a tour of Leipzig's city center. Historical examples of green façades will be presented, the many positive effects explained and common preconceptions about climbing plants explained. Kletterfix project manager Hannah Pilar Zimmermann invites you to think about façade greening as an integral part of a sustainable city.
