"Luck in misfortune." This phrase could undoubtedly be used to describe the musical career of singer-songwriter Harry Lloyd (Waiting For Smith). The Briton, once a ski instructor in the French Alps, found his destiny in music in a way that was both tragic and miraculous. Lloyd broke his back twice in a serious accident in the mountains. On the way to hospital, he was inspired to dedicate his life entirely to music if he was ever able to walk again - a plan he quickly put into action. Eight years after his accident, his music was already being played on over 180 radio stations worldwide and shazamed over 100,000 times. His single "So Much Love" has over 1.3 million streams on Spotify in 2023, where Waiting For Smith has up to 93,000 monthly listeners, while his "Song For Grace" can be heard in the Netflix series "Vis a Vis". As well as tours in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and California, appearances at Latitude Festival and Wilderness Festival and shows at the O2 Academy in Oxford and 229 in London confirm that Waiting For Smith has been single-mindedly following his revelation.

Even before his accident, Lloyd pursued music as a hobby, which he passionately pursued before and after work. Instead of sinking into self-pity after his serious misfortune, this was instead the catalyst for the former ski instructor to pursue a career as a musician. Just two years later, in 2017, Lloyd released his debut single under the stage name Waiting For Smith. Further singles followed and in 2019, Gentlemen's Quarterly Magazine UK described Waiting For Smith as the "British singer-songwriter you've been waiting for". Sounding somewhere between folky indie and smooth soft pop, Waiting For Smith delivers a soundtrack that acts like a warm embrace. With a recognizable affinity for love songs, the British singer-songwriter's songs invite you to sing along and create a comforting feeling that is omnipresent in the music and remains authentic throughout with emotional lyrics. For example, in his 2020 single "Lines Of Love": "It's often difficult to over speculate, one minute you're up and then you're down and that's your day", Waiting For Smith sings about his life. "It swings back and forth between unbridled happiness and moments of great despair", as does his music, which shows itself from many sides and finds a common thread in its often positive emotionality. His debut EP "Trying Not To Try", released in 2022, was followed in 2023 by further singles such as "Nature's Mind" - an emotional ballad that relies on subtle percussive rhythms in a similar minimalist style to his hit "So Much Love" and focuses on the acoustic guitar alongside his gentle voice.

After a tour as support for Isaac Anderson, Waiting For Smith will tour Germany and Austria as a main act for the first time in April 2024 to present his old and new songs in full concert length and enchant his audience.
