In the organizer's words:
Climate change and densification are leading to more hot days in cities with little cooling at night and strong heat radiation. Trees mitigate these effects, but climbing plants can also act as a natural air conditioning system: Green walls reduce the heat storage of facades and walls through shading and a large evaporating surface - and only require a small footprint! This is why the greening of buildings is even being promoted in Munich.
Suitable plants and climbing aids are presented and it is explained how much root space is required.
