Experience Grünau’s History and Stories

“Lipsia-Wanderkino” invites Grünau residents and interested Leipzigers to discover the neighborhood for the first time or rediscover it

To mark the neighborhood’s 50th anniversary, the “Lipsia” eG housing cooperative is taking a traveling cinema on tour from June 15 through September 5. A specially converted container will serve as an exhibition and screening space, inviting both neighborhood residents and visitors every Monday and Wednesday to discover Leipzig’s youngest neighborhood for the first time or rediscover it.

Among the highlights are Birk Poßecker’s film about Grünau—shot especially for the anniversary—the spectacular music video for the Grünau song, and historical footage spanning half a century of the neighborhood’s history by Siegfried Schlegel. Free admission is available.

The Lipsia Traveling Cinema will make a stop from June 15–24 at Potschkaustraße 66, from June 29 through July 15 at Grünauer Allee 2, from July 20 through August 5 at Arthur-Hoffmann-Straße 38, and from August 12 through August 31 at Berkaer Weg 1. Finally, you can enjoy the program as part of Lipsia’s 25th Haus & Hof Festival right on the festival grounds surrounding the Lipsia office on Brünner Straße.
