Trump 2.0 is an authoritarian shock. At the same time, what is currently happening in the USA has been building up over decades: austerity policies, the dismantling of social infrastructures and the weakness of progressive responses are the breeding ground for right-wing and fascist forces. In short, if we want to understand the rise of Trump, we have to talk about neoliberalism. At the same time, a diverse resistance has emerged in the USA in recent years - from new forms of trade unions to decentralized movements and young, left-wing politicians.

How did Trump come about - and what role did social and economic policy play in this?

How is fascism currently being discussed in the USA, also in comparison to the first Trump presidency? What is expressed in the success of the new New York mayor Zohran Mamdani? What can we learn from the successes, setbacks and "rays of hope" of the US left for our own struggles? What are the possibilities and limits of resistance?
