Wasserlithographie mit Carolin Müller - Nachhaltig Drucken mit Wasseroberflächen
In the organizer's words:
Water remembers. We leave traces on its surface, and it leaves traces in us. But how can we capture what floats on water, what flows through it, what remains? To get to the bottom of these questions, in this workshop we will explore water lithography as a practice of looking closely at the Weiße Elster and the small bodies of water in everyday life.
The technique uses naturally occurring oil-like residues on water surfaces as drawing material and uses recycled beverage cans as printing matrices. Participants are invited to rethink printing and reflect practically on sustainability, materials and our relationship to the natural environment.
The workshop includes an introduction to the technique of water lithography and explores questions of what site-specific work with lithography can look like (on rivers, lakes, coasts or urban water sites). Participants will leave the workshop with their own prints, an understanding of water lithography as a sustainable practice with reused materials, and the know-how to transfer this technique into new spaces and meeting formats.
