Weberei Kai - Workshop "Create your own Monkey Seat"
In the organizer's words:
The event will take place in the parish hall of Thomaskirche—the Hava Güleç Living Room—directly across from the church entrance.
Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., visitors to Manifesta 16 are invited to stop by the weaving workshop and weave their own “Monkey Seat.” You can join in at any time and don’t have to be there right at the start.
This craft project is suitable for beginners. You’ll create a practical item that can be used right away. A “Monkey Seat” is lightweight and can be carried just like a bag. It provides a portable seat, whether you’re hiking in nature, strolling through the city, or just want to rest for a moment, wherever you happen to be—and that’s all the more special because you made it yourself.
No weaving experience is required, and everyone is welcome.
Since this is a drop-in event, spots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. If all the looms are occupied when you arrive, you may have to wait a bit until one becomes available.
