Wehrdienst – was darf der Staat von uns erwarten?

In the organizer's words:

War in Europe is no longer an abstract headline. Since the Russian attack on Ukraine, military service, a sense of duty and security are once again being openly discussed in Germany.

What do we owe the state?
Should we serve voluntarily or be conscripted?
How much freedom can security cost?

The interactive debate "Military service. What can the state expect from us?" at KAP1 in Düsseldorf Central Library. The evening is organized by Europe Direct Düsseldorf together with the Düsseldorf City Libraries.

What's special about the format is that it's not just about listening. The audience is expressly invited to take a stand, question positions and join in the discussion. The evening will be moderated by science journalists Rainer Kurlemann and Alexander Mäder, who will lead through the discussion as future reporters.
