2nd Bach Choir Concert / Johann Sebastian Bach: Christmas Oratorio BWV 248 Cantatas I-III

Rejoice, rejoice! Johann Sebastian Bach's Christmas Oratorio is a work of the century that belongs to the Christmas season. It presents the Christmas story in the biblical text according to Luke and Matthew, combined with free poetry and individual church verse songs.

Bach originally composed the six-part oratorio for Christmas 1734 and the beginning of 1735: clearly structured, festive Baroque music of timeless radiance.
