Armin can't swim, but he can walk a tightrope and make music - and he's not afraid of heights. Because he is a lighthouse keeper and lives high up. He lights the beacon every evening. Afterwards, he likes to sit alone in his chair, drink tea and come up with little melodies. But one day he is startled by a loud noise. His peace and quiet is disturbed by Captain Ginny. "How did you get here?" asks Armin. "On the suitcase, of course. How else?" she replies. "A giraffe could well live up here, I can see the whole world from here!" Armin explains all the things in the lighthouse to Captain Ginny. Captain Ginny, in turn, shows her treasures that she keeps in her suitcase. Everyday things that suddenly have a life of their own. A fan becomes the setting sun, books fly through the evening atmosphere. In the heat of the game, Armin and Captain Ginny don't notice how the water is rising. Will Armin learn to swim? Can they fly away on the suitcase or will a giraffe help them out of trouble?
With dance, theater and music for children of kindergarten age, the play conveys in an imaginative and gentle way how valuable and unique every being and every object is.
