WELCOME HOME BABY - FEAR GOOD AWARD

Judith, an emergency doctor from Berlin, actually only wanted to return to the provincial town in Lower Austria for a short time to sell the house she inherited from her parents. She has no connection to the place, as her father and mother gave her up for adoption when she was a child. But the close-knit, extremely strange village community shows an almost obsessive interest in the Berliner and does everything in its power to keep Judith and her husband there. Haunted by nightmarish memories from her past, the young woman begins to get closer and closer to the community's secret.

Director Andreas Prochaska (DAS FINSTERE TAL, IN 3 TAGEN BIST DU TOT) once again sends his protagonists on a merciless trip to hell in which it becomes clear that family is the true horror. The characters, scenarios and visual compositions are reminiscent of SUSPIRIA and ROSEMARY'S BABY, then again of modern folk horror à la MIDSOMMAR.
