"Wenn ich König*in wäre..." Junge Visionen aus Neukölln
In the organizer's words:
What would Berlin and the world look like if young people from Neukölln could shape it? In the BERLIN GLOBAL exhibition at the Neukölln Community Foundation's new open space, eleven children and young people talk about the imbalances of the present and show their visions for a fairer future.
The children of today are the adults of tomorrow. They are super-diverse, rarely heard and even more rarely taken seriously. What changes do they want, what do they dream of? In the exhibition, the young project participants take an unsparing look at their everyday lives, their city and politics. Based on their experiences, they develop demands for justice, freedom of expression and cohesion - values and actions that are urgently needed in the migration society.
Visitors can become kings themselves in the exhibition area in the Verflechtung room. Anyone who takes a seat on the throne is invited to actively reject existing grievances and shape a better future together with the young people.
Because we may be different, but in the end we are all the same - so let's dance together!

Bürgerstiftung Neukölln: Since 2005, numerous people have been involved in the Bürgerstiftung Neukölln for the diverse potential of the district. Their shared vision is a Neukölln worth loving and living in, in which all people can actively shape their neighborhood and develop successfully. In its projects, the foundation is committed to social participation, respectful coexistence at eye level and fair educational opportunities.
İdilEfe is a cultural scientist and expert in the field of diversity management and anti-discriminatory organizational development. She works as a freelance curator and consultant. As a diversity agent at the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin, she was responsible for the implementation of diversification strategies from 2019 to 2023. Prior to that, she worked for 12 years at the Bürgerstiftung Neukölln, where she managed various projects and curated the Neuköllner Leuchtturm photo gallery. İdil Efe was a member of the curatorial team for the development of BERLIN GLOBAL.
