In the gray hours of the morning, between doubts and fatigue, the songs find their final form. The world is out of joint. At the damaged places of our hope, melodies and words search for the right place. Songs that are being tested for the next CD/LP, which the band is working on at the moment; songs from the solo live CD that has just been released; songs from the fund of the last 52 albums, carried by soft and certain tones of the guitars, trumpet, bass and accordion, piano and drums play to dance in the unrepeatable hours of the concerts. GLAD TO BE ALIVE. An adherence to elementary truths, in defiance of all ideological parcelling. Celebrating life as a victory against the destructive, against wars and demagogy. Music is a faithful companion in this.

Tours have taken Wenzel through France, Austria, America, Nicaragua, Turkey. He has been on stage with Arlo Guthrie, Randy Newman, Ferhat Tunc, Konstantin Wecker and many singers. He has survived honors from the GOLDEN AMIGA, the Heinrich Heine Prize to the German Cabaret Prize, the Honorary Antenna of the Belgian Radio, eight times the Prize of the German Record Critics and the annual awards of the Liederbestenliste! In 2023 the documentary film "Wenzel: GLaubt nie, was ich singe" was released by Arsenal Film and the new solo live CD "Noch verschont von großen Kriegen" on the label Matrosenblau.
