Werkschau FB Design Peter Behrens School of Arts

On July 19 and 20, 2024, the time has come again for around 150 graduates of the Department of Design. Over the two days, the communication design, exhibition design, new craft object design and retail design designers will showcase their final projects.

The exhibited works will be shown in Building 6 on the campus of Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences and offer visitors interested in design a comprehensive insight into the artistic and creative forms of presentation of young designers with a wide range of topics. In the Department of Design, these range from unusual pieces of jewelry, installations, photography to illustrations and the realization of print media or objects, the planning of store concepts, CI and exhibitions to user experience design and much more.

All results can also be explored digitally. On the Werkschau website hsd-werkschau.de, each graduate has a personal subpage on which pictures, videos, background information on the idea and personal data are recorded.

On Friday, July 19, 2024, the get-together of the Friends of the Department of Design will take place at 6 p.m., followed by a tour of the exhibition. Interested parties are welcome to register free of charge by e-mail: foerderverein.design@hs-duesseldorf.de (registration deadline: July 18, 2024)

The exhibition design
In this year's exhibition, the moment of pausing and taking a closer look is at the heart of the creative work. By looking carefully, one discovers the individual elements that are woven together to create a harmonious overall picture. The work includes acrylic paintings, illustrations, handwritten elements, interesting contrasts and typographic elements that form a multi-layered interplay that challenges the viewer and invites them to discover.

The political essay "Against Hate" by Carolin Emcke served as inspiration for the design process, which also encourages us to treat our fellow human beings with caution and to understand them as the complex beings they are.
