Marie Theres, 52, has a seemingly perfect life: she has been married to her husband Alexander for 20 years, is raising her teenage daughter Anna and is a successful doctor. But suddenly her life falls apart: her husband leaves her, her daughter rebels, she is suspended after a near-fatal mistake at the hospital and her friends turn their backs on her. At this moment, she meets Fa, a self-confident, independent, free-spirited Iranian woman who runs her own carpentry business with her siblings and looks after her elderly mother.The two women could not be more different and yet they feel drawn to each other. Both have to free themselves from the constraints they have imposed on themselves if they really want to be happy.
