Centuries-old songs meet jazz, soul and slivovitza.

"White widow" is the Balkan term for a woman whose lover has been missing for a long time. For centuries, women bid farewell to their husbands, sons, brothers and fathers in the wars, for centuries they wait in vain for their return. For centuries they sing about it. The most beautiful women's songs of the Balkans speak loudly and self-determinedly about waiting, female strength and the longing for the man who has stayed away. These songs are a feminist counter-voice and a powerful canon of remembrance culture from a female perspective.
