Protest - be it, for example, against the further extraction of lignite in times of man-made climate change or against water-intensive electric car factories in areas with groundwater scarcity - often shapes and changes the spaces and places where it takes place and where resistance to destructive action takes concrete form.
Protesters and activists not only formulate their opposition in words and present their bodies in protest marches, but also develop a very special aesthetic of resistance that can be poetic but also makes the absurd conditions visible. Conditions in which the economic interests of companies are given higher priority than the preservation of the foundations of human society.

Photographers Jörg Modrow and Tim Wagner have captured the resistance of activists in places such as Lützerath and Grünheide in pictures. We are showing some of their photos here in the exhibition 'WIDERSTANDSNESTER KLMAGERECHTIGKEIT'.
