Formed in Edinburgh in 2013 by Frenchman Victor Vicart and Scottish-born Dudley Tait, progressive post-metal/sludge creators DVNE have been building up a mighty head of steam since their second album - 2021's kaleidoscopically hypnotic Etemen Ænka. As their first release on the Metal Blade Records label, the LP was a concerted rise for this amazing band, allowing DVNE to not only headline tours across the UK and Europe, but also appearances at high profile festivals such as Hellfest, ArcTanGent, Desertfest, Damnation and Resurrection. 2022's live EP Cycles Of Asphodel, featuring reinterpreted tracks from the album Asphodel, continued to keep them on the radar of a rapidly growing fanbase, catering to the ever-increasing demand. Now, in 2024, it looks like the stunning third album, Voidkind, will only push the expanded five-piece line-up (with Maxime Keller on keyboards) further to the forefront of the sophisticated post-metal landscape. With a drive to create a versatile sound that is ever expanding in its musical scope, MONOSPHERE 2023 delivers the broadest spectrum the band has revealed to date. Between technical progressive metal and atmospheric post-metal, there are elements of jazz, neoclassical piano music, electronic elements and oppressive sound design, as well as influences from black metal, mathcore and deathcore that make the band's sound unique. All these influences are accompanied by strong narratives that turn MONOSPHERE's live shows with their impressive light show into a captivating soundtrack. A soundtrack that captivates with its enigmatic performance and builds on strong contrasts between beautiful melodies and raw, dissonant soundscapes. Building on the release of "The Puppeteer" (2021) and "Sentience" (2023), MONOSPHERE are at the peak of their career to date in 2024. After touring with "Rolo Tomassi", "The Hirsch Effekt", "Celeste" and "Imperial Triumphant" and supporting "Napalm Death", "The Ocean", "The Dear Hunter" and "Humanity's Last Breath", the band has long been an established name within the European prog & post-metal scene and headlined the side stage of Cologne's Euroblast Festival in 2023 (source: band info)
