During the Christmas season, Bucentaur Park is once again transformed into an atmospheric landscape of lights. Visitors can look forward to a lovingly decorated artists' tent, extraordinary concerts, spectacular fire shows, Christmas city tours and a varied children's program.

This year's "Winterweihnacht am See" is once again based on the tried and tested concept: art, music and creativity are at the heart of the pre-Christmas events. In a cozy artists' tent, regional creatives present their works directly on the shores of Lake Starnberg. The offer ranges from fine art prints and paintings to photography and wooden sculptures, risographs, bronze sculptures, Christmas cards and original gift ideas - perfect for anyone looking for special Christmas presents.

Artists' market

The artists' market opens its doors on two weekends: on December 13 and 14 and on December 20 and 21, from 12 noon to 6 pm. Here, art lovers have the opportunity to talk directly to the artists and discover the diversity of the local art scene.

Musical highlights for every taste

The concert program offers a colourful mix of different musical styles. Jan Wannemacher will kick things off on December 12 at 5 p.m. with Bavarian singer-songwriter charm and dialect pop. On December 13 at 4 pm, the Express Brass Band will provide urban brass sounds, followed by Lisa Fitzek with folk music on December 14 at 4 pm.

After a short break, the show continues on December 19 at 4 pm with Jeanne D'azz, who present jazz, blues and swing. Mountain Lake Vista will bring a folk atmosphere to the stage on December 20 at 4 p.m., before the Malis Swing Connection brings the musical finale on December 21 at 4 p.m. with their Swinging Christmas program.

Fire art enchants the winter evenings

Three spectacular fire shows provide magical moments. On December 12 at 6:30 pm, Symbiosis Fire Performance will delight the audience. Raphaela Frimpong shows her fire art on December 20 at 5:30 pm, while the smArt faireinte Bühne e.V. association sets the fiery climax on December 21 at 5:30 pm.

Creative program for the whole family

On December 20 and 21 from 12 noon to 6 p.m., young artists can get creative with children's painting under the guidance of Inge Schwarzmaier and Christine Brandstätter from Kunstverein Starnberg e.V.. Another highlight for children is the hands-on reading "Der viel zu kleine Nussknacker" by Andy Kuhn on December 21 at 1 pm. Free admission.

Painting ceramics - create your own Christmas presents

The ceramics studio Meet 2 Paint is offering a special attraction on December 13 and 14 from 12 noon to 6 pm. Visitors can drop by spontaneously and choose from a selection of festive ceramic blanks. Christmas baubles, mini Christmas trees, gift boxes or individual gift tags. After painting, the works of art are professionally glazed and fired - the finished unique pieces can be collected after just one week. Prices range from 10 to 25 euros per blank.

Christmas city tour with surprises

The "Starnberg Advent calendar to go" by Dr. Claudia Wagner on 14 and 21 December at 2 pm promises entertaining insights into the town's Christmas history. When were the Christmas trees by the lake lit by electricity? Does mulled wine help against toothache? Why does Coca-Cola Santa Claus wear a wedding ring? What is the address of the Christ Child? Did Humperdinck compose his "gingerbread opera" Hansel and Gretel in Starnberg? And what is the story behind the local ice festival in 1929?

During the two-hour tour, which starts at the Starnberg Surveying Office and ends at the Winter Christmas by the Lake in Bucentaurpark, 24 mysterious questions will be answered. For 16 euros, participants also receive a mulled wine or punch in the Bucentaur Kulturcafé. Tickets are available on 08151 772 170 or schlossberghalle(at)starnberg.de.

Culinary indulgence on the lakeshore

The Bucentaur Kulturcafé "Ganz am Ufer" provides warm drinks and hearty snacks for the physical well-being of visitors and rounds off the cozy winter experience.
