Cheese fondue and winemaker evening with Kaufmann winery at the wine lobbyist

Winemaker Urban Kaufmann, who was a cheese maker in his former life, is coming to Berlin on February 22 to host a winemaker's evening with cheese fondue with sommelier Serhat Aktas in the wine bar "der Weinlobbyist".

Born in Switzerland, he was a self-employed cheese maker whose great love has always been wine. This passion ultimately shaped his life to such an extent that he decided to become a winemaker. He found his new home in the Rheingau, bought the Hans Lang winery and quickly gave it his own name: Kaufmann. Today, he runs the winery biodynamically, proudly bears the Demeter certificate and is a member of the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates (VDP).

But the story has another special twist: In addition to a top winery, Urban also found the love of his life - the then VDP managing director Eva Raps. Wine and heart united! He will tell you how this came about on the evening itself. Spoiler: It's going to be fun!

His first passion, cheese, is still with him today. As a guest at the "Weinlobbyist", he will be bringing along his own cheese blend for the fondue - accompanied by several of his excellent wines.
