In the organizer's words:

How can excessive rents and rent profiteering be combated and rents made affordable again? How can real estate speculation be prevented? What legal instruments and options are available? What can politicians do and how can tenants defend themselves against excessive rents?

In a discussion, the rent and housing experts Sofia Leonidakis and Caren Lay will explore these questions, among others, and show how politics and civil society can fight together against excessive rents and for affordable housing - from the introduction of a rent control office, non-profit housing construction, remunicipalization or socialization to rent campaigns by tenants and activists. A tenant from the Remberti tower block will also take part in the discussion and share his personal experiences in the fight against usurious rents.
