Wolfgang Maaß präsentiert: NOSFERATU
In the organizer's words:
A staged reading from the series “Between Darkness and Light”
With “Nosferatu,” actor, director, and author Wolfgang Maaß invites audiences to an atmospheric evening of theater. Inspired by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau’s legendary silent film classic from 1922, the performance creates a unique form of storytelling that blends literature, drama, and atmosphere.
After more than 25 years of theater work in front of, on, and behind the stage, he is now dedicating himself to his own literary-theatrical narrative formats with his series “Between Darkness and Light.” The focus is on the power of language, deliberate simplicity, and the narrator’s immediate presence.
In this way, Murnau’s timeless story comes to life in a unique way. Without grand effects, an intense mental movie unfolds—full of suspense, atmosphere, and unspoken images that only reveal their full impact in the audience’s imagination. At the heart of the story is a love willing to sacrifice itself to hold back the darkness.
An evening for everyone who wants to not only hear stories but also experience them.
“Perhaps the experience begins precisely at the moment when you stop merely listening.”
