Workshop Chinesische Kalligrafie für Anfänger &Fortgeschrittene

Workshop Chinesische Kalligrafie für Anfänger &Fortgeschrittene

In the organizer's words:

Chinese calligraphy is an art form that is artistically closely related to painting. In this workshop, you will gain an insight into the historical and cultural foundations of calligraphy as well as the different styles. You will also learn the basic principles of Chinese writing and characters.

In the practical part, you will practise the correct position of the brush. Starting with simple strokes and simple characters, you will be introduced to calligraphy - right through to creating your own small works that you can hang on your wall or give as gifts.

The Calligraphy I workshop is aimed at beginners. No previous knowledge or the purchase of additional materials is necessary. Calligraphy II is designed for advanced students and builds on the content of the beginners' workshop.

About the teacher:

Li Ran, graphic designer, illustrator and calligraphy teacher.

She loves everything beautiful in life - big or small, useful or seemingly not. She learned to write from her father from an early age. Her initial curiosity for brushes, ink, paper and inkstone developed into a way of life: Calligraphy became a way for her to practice patience and concentration - and to quietly experience the moment in all its depth.

Today, she runs her own studio "Kulturatelier Plusminussieben 時差柒", where she is primarily dedicated to teaching Chinese calligraphy. She also explores how illustration and calligraphy can be combined in the field of visual design - an exciting bridge between traditional aesthetics and modern visual language.

She has been giving private lessons in Chinese calligraphy at the Confucius Institute Munich since 2022. She loves to enter into a dialog with the calligraphers of the past together with her students using old script templates and ink works, practicing with patience in the world of brush and ink and discovering the beauty of tradition and life.
