WAGASHI - Make your own Japanese sweets
Experience a moment of Japanese tea culture at HETJENS!
A bowl of Japanese tea is accompanied by a special dessert: WAGASHI. Its ingredients, production and artistic appearance clearly distinguish it from Western sweets. Under the guidance of artist SATOMI EDO, participants will create a sweet work of art that is not only a culinary delight, but also a feast for the eyes. The participants are instructed by Ms. Edo in the art of preparing matcha themselves in a traditional ceramic bowl, the so-called chawan. At the end, the group enjoys the homemade tea and dessert in a small group and has the opportunity to exchange ideas and learn more about Japanese culture and life in Japan. Workshop incl. an introduction to the Japanese tea ceremony by Dr. Christina Kallieris.
