The Digital Archive of the Independent Performing Arts went online at the beginning of this year! The Digital Archive is a platform for documents and materials on the past and present of the independent performing arts. The content comes from the scene itself: Artists and other people and institutions who create and preserve collections can create entries and upload digital material.
But how does it actually work? The Digital Archive is for the independent performing arts community, but must also be actively filled by the members of the independent performing arts community.
The Deutsches Theatermuseum, Christina Ruf (Verband Freie Darstellende Künste Bayern e.V.) and Dr. Daniela Rippl (Kulturreferat München) cordially invite you to a workshop on registration and joint entry steps to make it easy to start using the Digital Archive.
The workshop will begin with two keynote speeches: the first by Dr. des. Beatrice Wichmann (Head of the Collection of the Deutsches Theatermuseum) deals with the collection strategy of the Theatermuseum and the task of collecting in the present and the second by Dr. Daniela Rippl with the Living Archive.
This will be followed by a brief introduction to registration and the various options for recording in the digital archive. Afterwards there will be enough time to make your own first recordings, exchange ideas and clarify questions and problems on the spot.
Please bring your own laptop and material for capturing. The objects to be captured can be, for example, program booklets, video or text files, photographic material or photographs of props and stage sets.
