Workshop für Kinder: Bernsteinwerkstatt
In the organizer's words:
The Rhine was an important trade route for the Romans. Various goods arrived in Bonn by water from distant regions. This included amber, which came from the Baltic Sea and was even processed into ornate jewelry or special everyday objects in workshops on the Adriatic. A luxury that only wealthy Romans could afford. The various objects in the exhibition bear witness to the craftsmanship of the Romans and their wide-ranging trade relations. After an introduction to the exhibition, the children work a piece of natural raw amber into a pendant.
