The workshop delves into the world of papel picado, a traditional Mexican paper art that accompanies festivals and community traditions. Participants work together to create garlands from (recycled) paper and learn about the stories and meanings of this technique. The resulting paper scraps are then turned back into new material by papermaking. This creates a cycle that combines craftsmanship, sustainability and creative work.
