Workshop spezial für Freie Improvisation - Ein Workshop mit Axel Dörner

Every six months, we invite an artist from the scene of internationally active improvisation musicians to give a concert and lead a "workshop special" at the exploratorium.
In the first half of 2026, this will be Axel Dörner, who, in addition to this workshop, will perform live in concert with DDK + Sachiko M on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

The workshop deals with the topic of so-called free improvisation. Together we will try to work out what freedom can mean in a musical context, what the perceived freedom refers to and what possibilities it opens up. The aim is to enable musicians to achieve a scope between musical freedom, musical responsibility and cultural contexts.
The aim is to become aware of all the ways in which improvisation can open up a potentially infinite variety of musical outcomes.
